Angular UFO structure (Denmark cloud sighting 2009) hovering in a cloud system at sunset was my first capture of the supposed UAP. The odd structure, which at first glance appears to be a sphere, must be several kilometers away and quite large. And the anomaly just sits there, hovering on that cloud stripe in the sunset, while the clouds pass by it. I captured the sunset scenario handheld in four photos. They were taken in the same direction as the cloud stripe on which the angular UFO shape was located.
This 2009 cloud sighting was not a live observation, because I didn’t notice the strange object hovering until a few days later. I shot four photos in a row of the sunset, with a few seconds between them. The angular UFO structure is visible in all four photos, and what do you do then? You make a stabilized playback animation with the four original still pictures. It makes it possible to observe the interaction between the suspected anomalous object and the cloud system on which it rests.

The angular UFO structure is shown here in a stabilized playback with a 0,8-second interval between the four original photos. This is perfect for a brief behavioral analysis of the anomaly while hovering on the cloud system in the sunset. In color, the photos seem a bit smashed out, so I decided to do this in grayscale.
The first three photos here are slightly out of focus. But the last and fourth photo seems to be the best capture. Despite this, you can still see how the object behaves in the cloud system. The stabilized playback shows a dark shape hovering in the same position. And the surrounding clouds drift past both in front and behind, from left to right. In the middle, there is another independent cloud that does not move. And it mysteriously wraps around the odd structure that does not move either. One might get the impression that the white cloud in the middle of the moving cloud system somehow belongs to the angular UFO structure.

So, the best UFO photo of the cloud sighting 2009 I can offer you is the fourth and last image in the sunset series. This image shows the odd structure almost in perfect focus, based on the clouds around it and how they look. Please note that the anomalous object is very small in the original photos. What you see here are enlarged images of the anomaly, which may cause it to be slightly grainy.
With the best UFO photo above from the cloud sighting 2009, you might still get the impression that it is a spherical object. But if you look closely, a different structure emerges…

When you magnify the angular UFO structure to the maximum, unusual shapes emerge. It is not just a hole in the cloud with a view to a darker cloud behind it. There is something in that hole with an odd angular structure that looks out. The dark object seems covered by the cloud on the right side, but on the left side, it seems that the mysterious structure peeks out and lies in front of the cloud.
I’m afraid I’ve misled you all with this UFO case. I assumed it was a spherical object and didn’t do any more to investigate it further. Years have passed since I first uploaded this article. But now I am in the process of editing and rewriting all articles from scratch, and this time it had a different result than expected. The large sphere UFO was not a sphere at all, but a mysterious structure with angular shapes peeking out from a cloud.
Real UFO structure hovering or weather-related phenomenon?
With the almost 10.000 photos I have taken of clouds and cloud formations, I know there is a possibility that this can be a weather-related phenomenon. The angular UFO structure hovering on a cloud in the sunset could be a tricky meteorological phenomenon that, at the moment I shot the photos, looked very odd. Clouds can form almost anything in the sky. But the angular shapes here are not something I´ve ever seen manifested by a cloud. I have seen straight structures in the form of cloud fronts coming in, but not like this one. I have seen lots of Alto Cumulus clouds with parallel repeated structures but still fluffy as clouds tend to be. Real UFO structure or not, I don´t think this cloud sighting is a weather-related phenomenon. Not with these angular shapes and straight lines that I see. But it depends on who sees it.

The angular UFO structure photo cloud sighting was reported to MUFON and SUFOI, and in connection with reporting to SUFOI, 2 of a total of 4 full resolution images were evaluated by John Cappelen on DMI (Danish Meteorological Institute). Case in SUFOI’s newsmail No. 112
Local meteorological phenomenon says DMI
SUFOI’s Photo Department turned naturally to the Danish Meteorological Institute, DMI, who are experts in this type of phenomenon in the sky.
Senior Climatologist John Cappelen subsequently replies:
The pictures do not tell me much beyond the purely meteorological. One can always find weird stuff on sky pictures – then by analyzing them … and things that are seen also depends on the eye of the beholder.
In meteorological terms, clouds in the picture were attached to a front that separated cool air with rain over southeast Denmark from warmer air to the northwest. There was no altocumulus or altostratus, some places with a little structure and localized in two layers. With a little effort, you can also see a single short fall-stripe.
The dark stain that has not changed between the two images, is in my opinion due to a local thickening, eventually the shadow by a cloud behind.

SUFOI concludes:
So there is after DMI’s expert opinion no doubt, that the dark pattern is a local meteorological phenomenon that only in this case has come to look very strange in the photographs.

My comment regarding John Cappelen and SUFOI
I am glad that climatologist John Cappelen from DMI has seen some of the photos. From what I understand from his statement, he concludes nothing but just feels that it may be a local thickening. Perhaps the shadow of a cloud behind. My own personal experience with photography in general, in light of the almost 10.000 images I have taken so far of clouds and cloud formations, tells me that John Cappelen’s presumption may well be correct. But his opinion is an opinion and not a solid scientific conclusion on anything, merely a presumption.
The two photos evaluated by John Cappelen were full-resolution photos where the object was not magnified at all. SUFOI seems not to have done any analysis or magnification of the images before handing them over to DMI. If DMI magnified the photos while analysing them, I don´t know.
The image used in SUFOI’s newsmail No. 112 is a full-resolution photo where you can barely see what I am reporting to them. One may think it is just a photo of the sunset. No magnified pictures were used.

These four full-resolution UFO photos were captured with a Sony A-100 reflex camera with a standard zoom lens attached. The lens had a focal length of 70 mm when the photos were taken. Study the list below, and you´ll get an idea of the distance to the mysterious object.
